Blame the tankers, they couldnt handle getting blown up so now all AV has to be as useless against them as the plasma cannon
Lol maybe you are forgetting the nerf tanks are getting (less slots, lower speed, electronics no longer gives CPU, low ammo counts etc..) plus swarms are OP and I know this because I use them. I can lock onto a tank at 400m and fire 3 volleys at it before the first lands, because I am so far away the swarms are invisible so the tanker gets no warning so the first shot is essentially a sneak attack, then as they are activating their modules the second and third land by which point I have reloaded and begun firing again, if the swarm guy has half a brain he waited until the tank was in a bad place to avoid swarms so all 6 of my volleys are pretty much guaranteed to hit. This coupled with the fact that even if the tank gets into cover the swarms usually fly past then do an instant 180 on the spot and get them anyway.
Forgeguns are working as intended but the damage is a bit too high especially on the IAFG, higher damage and lower charge speed from a gun that works from a distance well beyond your optimal range and 9/10 beyond your render distance, but FGs are also probably getting nerfed thanks to AR514 players screaming about getting one shotted. (rumour I heard was removal of splash from FGs and a few other tweaks to make it less effective against infantry.
Plasma cannon is laughable against vehicles and is completely out classed and out DPS'd by AV nades.
So yeah AV is currently UP.
One thing I do agree on is nerfing swarm range and damage is a bit too far it should have just been range to solve cloaking swarms and left damage until we see how it stacks up against the new vehicles.
I just soloed a Tank the other day with my Cannon.
It wasn't some beginning tanker (as far as Skill Points spent [I can tell by how much damage was done per shot]) and it still only took me four shots.
Two blasts for shields and another two for armor.
If I had (like every other person seems to have for ANY weapon) the Prototype Cannon, Proficiency V, and a couple of Complex Damage Mods, It could have been three shots, maybe two.
And I can still OHK mostly any suit in the game.
Cannons are meaner than anyone gives credit for.
As far as all the other changes, to both Tanks and AV weaponry, it seems like it's falling in line.
Are they bad changes? Some of them, yes.
Will it make the game better? I think so.
We will just have to wait and see.
